Yearly Eye Exam
Annual eye exams include checking the health of your eyes and testing your vision. Depending on your situation, you may be genetically disposed to perfect eye vision and not need additional help with your vision. Or we can help you decide on glasses, eye contacts, or Lasik eye surgery.
Safety Eyewear
Sunglasses: It is always recommended to invest in a good quality pair of sunglasses when going out in the sun, especially polarized sunglasses. This will help prevent sun exposure to UVA/UVB rays because eyes can get sunburnt. Polarized sunglasses can help with glares caused by the sun, such as going in the water at the beach and sun glares on your car, which not regular sunglasses can do.
Goggles: Sports goggles are also convenient when playing sports, such as hockey, skiing, and swimming. Also if you have a job in a field like construction.
Health & Wellness
Healthy foods: Certain nutritious foods can help with the health of your eyes, such as carrots, leafy greens vegetables, seafood, nuts, eggs, and fruit. These foods contain vitamins, such as zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin c.
Exercise: Exercise is always good for your body’s general health. We recommend finding exercises and sports you enjoy to fit into your daily lifestyle.
Smoking: Smoking is never good for your health in general. Smoking can have side effects on the eyes, such as ready eyes. Smoking can also cause aging of the eyes and diseases, such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and optic nerve damage.
Screens & Blue lights
Blue Light Filtering Glasses: Blue lights can cause stains on the eyes, headaches, blurry vision, and dry eyes. Blue light filtering glasses cancel out the blue light on the screen, especially important at night time.
Screen Time: Some jobs require you to look at the screen all week. However, it is important to take a break from the screen a few times a day or every half hour. Taking breaks is also a good way to enjoy a hobby or go outside the house, which doesn’t require a screen.
