Lose the Double Chin with KYBELLA®

A double chin can be the result of a few different factors such as age, diet, weight, genetics, and posture. While some claim that there are various exercises you can do to prevent a double chin, there is little scientific research on those exercises’ effects. However, there is a different tried and true method for quickly eliminating your double chin: KYBELLA® injections. This treatment has become a popular solution in recent years. According to a survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, 73% of consumers are bothered by excess fat under the chin/neck and are turning to cosmetic procedures like this to fix it.
What is KYBELLA®?
KYBELLA® is a nonsurgical cosmetic injection that is approved by the FDA. It is composed of deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally-produced molecule in the body that helps break down and absorb fat. Once injected, KYBELLA® starts destroying the fat cells under the chin and reduces the look of a double chin.
KYBELLA® Process
To determine if KYBELLA® is right for you, our Boca Raton staff will examine the area under and around your chin. Treatment will vary from patient to patient based on the amount of fat under the chin and goal aesthetic. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin and the cosmetic injection process will take about 15-20 minutes. The cosmetic injections are given at least 1 month apart from each other, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. Within 2-4 treatments, you will begin to see results.
After treatment the most common side effects are swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treated area. These are not all of the possible side effects; make sure to contact your doctor for medical advice. Swelling can last anywhere from 5-14 days, with smaller areas swelling for 4-6 weeks.
